Theodore and the Bedtime Moon

One night, Milo and Lulu could not sleep.

“I’m not tired,” said Milo.

“Not even a little,” agreed Lulu with a giant yawn.

So Theodore opened the curtains wide.

Outside, the moon was glowing softly above the trees.

“Do you know,” Theodore whispered, “the moon watches over sleepy little ones everywhere?”

Milo and Lulu climbed closer to the window.

“Even little kids like us?” asked Lulu.

“Especially little kids like you,” Theodore smiled.

Theodore pointed at the twinkling stars. “Every star is like a tiny night-light in the sky.” The room grew quiet.

Milo’s eyes slowly blinked shut. Lulu curled up beside her blanket.

And before Theodore could even finish the bedtime song…

Both little ones were fast asleep.

The moon kept shining quietly all night long.
